When to separate “Separable Phrasal Verbs”

When to separate “Separable Phrasal Verbs”
Separable phrasal verbs can remain together (or be separated) when using an object that is a noun or noun phrase. For example:
I set up the chessboard. (He colocado la tabla de ajedrez)
I set the chessboard up.

Separable phrasal verbs MUST be separated when a pronoun is used:
I set it up. (Lo he colocado)
You cannot separate them when the object is a verb or verb phrase.
When the chessboard is set up we will play chess.
All phrasal verbs containing more than one particle are inseparable.
I had to put up with the noise from the party upstairs. (Yo tenía que aguantar el ruido de la fiesta en el piso de arriba.)
