The bare infinitive

O, el infinitivo desnudo.... Todo el mundo sabe que en inglés, el infinitivo va precedido por la palabra "TO".
To be, to run, to speak etc. Pero, hay muchos casos cuando usamos el infinitivo sin el "to". Muchos métodos se refieren a este caso como "the infinitive without to". Muy complicado, digo yo. Sobre todo cuando existe la expresión "bare infinitive" Por ejemplo en el caso del imperativo, "Run!" El "bare infinitive es simplemente el "sin to".

Esta forma verbal suele acompañar a otro verbo y los dos hacen referencia al mismo sujeto:

He made me carry the bags upstairs.

She helped me write the letter.

También con las expresiones “would rather” , “had better” 

I’d rather study English.

I’d better go.
